How much does a Salla store cost in Saudi Arabia? What actually drives the price

The most common question merchants ask us: "How much does a Salla store cost?" The honest answer is that there is no single number — and anyone who quotes a price before asking about your products and your shipping is either selling you a stock template or will surprise you with extra costs later.

This article does not give you a number. It gives you something more useful: the six factors that determine the number, so you can read any quote and know exactly what you are paying for, and why two quotes for the same store can differ by multiples.

First: separate two very different costs

  • The Salla platform subscription: a recurring fee you pay Salla directly, not the person building your store. It varies by plan and the features it unlocks.
  • The build and setup cost: what you pay whoever designs the theme, enters the products, connects payments and shipping, and optimises the store for search. That is what this article covers.

Always ask: does the figure in the quote include the platform subscription or not? One question prevents an entire misunderstanding.

Factor one: the plan you actually need

Do not default to the most expensive or the cheapest. Choose the plan that unlocks what you will actually use. The biggest difference between tiers is integration with analytics and marketing platforms: if you intend to run ads and measure them, you need a plan that allows tracking tools. If you are selling locally with no ads at first, the entry plan will serve you for months.

Factor two: the theme — stock or custom

  • Stock theme in your colours: fastest and cheapest. A working store in days, but it looks like hundreds of others.
  • Custom theme for your identity: a homepage order built around your products, with sections and banners designed for you. Costs more, takes longer, and separates you from a competitor selling the same item.

The practical rule: if you sell a product others also stock, design is part of your differentiation and worth the spend. If your product is rare or exclusive, start with a stock theme and upgrade later out of profit.

Factor three: product count and data quality

This is the line item always forgotten in estimates and always explosive in execution. Entering 30 products is not entering 800. And more important than the count is the state of your data: do you have photos on a consistent background, or do you need photography? Written descriptions, or just names? Known sizes and weights (weight is required for automatic shipping calculation)? A tidy spreadsheet, or images in a WhatsApp group?

A merchant who hands over organised files pays far less than one who asks the builder to sort out the chaos. This is a cost you can cut yourself before requesting any quote.

Factor four: integrations

A basic store works with default payment and shipping. Every additional connection is working time: extra payment gateways or instalments, a carrier not listed by default, links to an existing inventory or accounting system, branch or point-of-sale connections, tracking and analytics tools.

Write the list of what you genuinely need before requesting a quote. Adding an integration after delivery always costs more than including it in scope from the start.

Factor five: migration from an existing store

If you are moving from another platform, this is not copy and paste. Proper migration moves products, customers and orders — and crucially, 301 redirects from the old URLs to the new ones. Without them you lose everything Google had indexed for your old store and start from zero in search.

If a quote does not mention 301 redirects explicitly, ask. Their absence is a silent loss you only notice two months later when your traffic collapses.

Factor six: search optimisation

A working store is not a visible store. The gap is extra work: product titles using words people search for rather than internal SKUs, descriptions that answer buyer objections and get indexed, clear categories that ease crawling, image alt text, and image compression — a slow store loses half its visitors before they see the product.

Some quotes include this and some do not. That alone explains a wide gap between two numbers that appear to be for the same service.

After launch — the cost everyone overlooks

A store is not a project that ends at delivery. Budget from the start for updating products and prices, running seasonal offers, following up abandoned carts, and handling orders. Either assign your team time for it or contract monthly management. Ignoring this line is why stores launch with enthusiasm and die within three months.

Six questions to put to any quote

  1. Does the figure include the Salla subscription, or is it separate?
  2. How many products does entry cover, and what does an extra product cost?
  3. Are photography and description writing in scope, or on me?
  4. Which integrations are included, by name?
  5. Does it include 301 redirects if I am migrating from another platform?
  6. What is the support period after delivery, and what exactly does support cover?

In short

The price of a Salla store is a range, not a number, set by: the plan, the theme type, your product count and data quality, integrations, migration, and the level of search optimisation. A merchant who prepares photos, descriptions and a product file before requesting a quote pays less and receives faster — and that part is in your hands.

At Traffic Plus we start by reviewing what you actually have, then give you a line-by-line breakdown, and tell you honestly when a ready-made platform is enough and when you need a custom store — because always recommending the more expensive option is not advice.
