অটো ওয়ার্কশপ মার্কেটিং: প্রতিযোগীর আগে বিকল হওয়ার মুহূর্তে কল কীভাবে জিতবেন?

Search arrives at the breakdown moment

No sector has a shorter distance between search and decision than auto repair. The driver is on the roadside, or has just discovered the air conditioning has stopped working before a long day. They open Google on a phone, type the problem, and call the first suitable number. They do not read an About page or compare five websites.

This inverts marketing priorities. Ranking organically for "car maintenance" matters far less than appearing in the map pack for "car AC workshop near me". And a beautiful website that hides the phone number below the fold loses to a simple business profile with a clear call button.

How the search is actually phrased

  • By fault: "noise from the engine when accelerating", "car shakes when braking", "car AC not cooling".
  • Service plus location: "auto electrician + district name", "oil change near me", "bodywork and paint + city".
  • By make: "Lexus specialist workshop", "Toyota service outside the dealership" — the highest-value phrasing, carrying specialisation intent with less competition.

The practical conclusion: every common fault your workshop handles well deserves to be a named service — on the profile and on the site — not dissolved into "general maintenance".

The most common mistake in this sector

A profile categorised only as "workshop", with no specific service list. The business then never surfaces for a specific fault search and competes only in the generic search everyone fights over. Google does not infer your specialisation from storefront photos; it reads the categories and services you wrote.

The second, costlier mistake: outdated opening hours. Emergency calls are the highest-value enquiries here, and they are the first thing lost when Google says "closed" while you are open — or the reverse, and a customer arrives at a locked door and leaves a negative review.

A six-step plan

  1. A precise primary category — "auto electrical repair shop" or "tyre shop" instead of the generic "auto repair shop", then add secondary categories.
  2. A detailed service list, each written the way a customer searches: "car AC repair", "key programming", "timing belt replacement" — not "full servicing".
  3. Correct hours, including seasonal hours — Ramadan, holidays and Fridays need updating in advance, not afterwards.
  4. Real photos of the workshop, team and equipment: trust here rests on the place looking organised and properly equipped.
  5. A page per service on the website. One "Our Services" page does not compete; a page titled "Car AC repair in [city]" does, explaining the fault, its causes, repair time, and when replacement beats repair.
  6. A persistent mobile call button, visible on every page without scrolling, with a tappable number rather than an image.

Reviews: the neglected half

In a sector built on trust in a diagnosis the customer cannot verify, reviews are not decoration. Ask at handover, not by message a week later, and answer negative reviews with a calm technical explanation — the real audience for that reply is the next reader, not the complainant.

Never buy reviews. Profiles in this sector are suspended over sudden review spikes more than most, and losing the profile means losing every call at once.

Paid advertising: when it pays

Google Ads works here under two conditions: a tight radius (5–10 km, since nobody tows a car across town) and ad scheduling limited to opening hours. Spending outside opening hours buys calls nobody answers. Call extensions outperform every other format, collapsing the journey from result to call into one tap.

What is actually measured

  • Calls received during opening hours — not visits.
  • Visibility share within a 5 km radius.
  • Cost per actual workshop visit, not cost per click.
  • Share of calls that become an opened repair order.

The gap between the first and last metric exposes a call-handling problem — operational rather than marketing, but it consumes half the campaign result in many workshops.

What we deliver

Profile setup with precise categories and services, a website with a dedicated page per service and major fault, district-level local optimisation, and ad campaigns scheduled to opening hours with call extensions.
